Despite a little protest at the school-gates from Mia that she still wasn’t feeling very well and should be allowed the day off to ‘get better’ with Thomas, rather embarrassingly in front of the other parents whose own children could do no wrong, it was a relatively stress-free, school run for Anne just as it was most other days. Yesterday she had hoped Bill was going to do the drop-off for her, to give her a little break from the rush hour traffic, but today she was nothing less than grateful for the chance to get out of the house and away from the impostor pretending to be her son. She had even been thankful for the extra traffic she had encountered on the trip in.
